FARM INFORMATION
The coffee is purchased from the Gakuyu-ini factory, which is part of the Thirikea Farmers Cooperative Society, a group that consistently provides top-quality profiles! It is located just 1.5 hours away from Nairobi, proving how close Kenya’s coffee farms are to the city.
The members of the cooperative are around 1,600 farmers, who deliver their cherries throughout the year. In Kenya we mainly find washed coffees and it is considered by many to be one of the top producing countries! The coffee cherries are hand-picked and separated from the unripe and ripe and left to dry in the sun on African beds for approximately 21 days. An important factor is the weather conditions for how long they will need to stay to dry!
Such a flavorful and delicious coffee, with stone fruit characteristics such as apricot, red currant and white flowers! The aftertaste is reminiscent of white wine and sugar.
