Papua New Guinea Nebilyer Valley Coffee: A Harmonious Blend of Tradition and Quality
Discover the unique and exquisite Papua New Guinea Nebilyer Valley Coffee, sourced from the lush Tambul-Nebilyer district in the Western Highlands Province. This region, renowned for its optimal coffee-growing climate and soil, is home to over 70 smallholder producers contributing to the Rilke supply base. Delivered to the Kuta Mill, these cherries are fully washed and sun-dried, yielding a coffee with a rich flavor profile of mature blueberries, tea with honey, melon, and chocolate syrup.
The farms, nestled between 1520 – 1740 meters above sea level, cultivate varieties like Bourbon, Typica, and Arusha, often intercropped with other produce. The Kuta Mill, a symbol of unity among the Ulga and Kolga tribes, has been operational for over 40 years. Under the guidance of Brian Leahy, the mill rewards farmers who deliver quality cherries, fostering a commitment to excellence. Each cup of this coffee is a testament to the harmonious blend of tradition, community, and quality that defines Papua New Guinea’s coffee culture.
