FARM INFORMATION
Buku Abel was established in 2019 and is located in Guji village, at an altitude of 1900 – 2100 m, on a small hill with huge exposure to the sun, cool winds and rich, fertile, red soil. The station buys cherries from around 400 neighboring farmers, who deliver their cherries at noon and pick them until late afternoon.
These cherries have been hand picked and selectively sorted to have the ripest, red cherries. They are then packed into large plastic barrels where an airlock system prevents oxygen from entering. After 144 hours in barrels, the coffee is removed and spread on 120 raised beds with the cherry still intact. It dries slowly over 2-3 weeks. Taste reminiscent of jam! With tropical fruits and a very sweet finish. Notes of red fruits, cherry, pineapple and dark chocolate. Nuts will also make an appearance!
